2,000-year-old shipwreck could also be Egyptian ‘pleasure barge’ from final dynasty of pharaohs

Whereas diving off the coast of Egypt, underwater archaeologists discovered the two,000-year-old stays of a ship which will have been an opulent “pleasure barge” for the traditional elite.

The staff found the barge within the historical harbor of Alexandria, the capital of Egypt through the Ptolemaic interval (304 to 30 B.C.) and a serious metropolis when the Roman Empire later dominated the area.
